Bar Stools For The Home Bar
Bar Stools For The Home Bar.
If you have a penchant for a party or you simply enjoy unwinding with a nice alcoholic beverage, then you may find yourself sitting at home from time to time, in the living room, wishing you were out amongst the vibrancy of your favourite bar, kicking back and sipping on your favourite drink, whilst relaxing on some comfortable bar stools.
If you find yourself wishing this once too often, the pang for a piña colada almost too intense to stand, then the simple solution is to change the location of your favourite bar – to your home. With a few simple adjustments, you can turn a corner of your living room, dining room, or whatever room you choose, into your own little Shangri-La.
The first step is to do a little bit of planning. There is bound to be an area of your home that would be really well suited to a bar. Some people like to have theirs where it is always visible, in the corner of a well-used room such as the lounge. For others the home bar is a little retreat, all of its own, and so a separate room is set aside solely for the purpose of the bar.
You then need to spend some time looking at the various types of materials that can be used to make your bar. Some people like to have a traditional wood bar with wainscoting, whilst others opt for a modern finish by using materials such as metal or brushed steel – for these options take a look at some of brushed steel bar stools such as our brand new solace bar stool in white, perfect for creating an ultra modern look to any room.
A good way to brainstorm is to visit various pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes, to get inspiration for how you want yours to look. If you are opting to have your bar in your living room then you are likely to want it looking similar to the existing appearance of the room, so this is something that you might want to consider. You will need to think about colour schemes and potentially the shape of the bar, in order for everything to remain harmonious, and of course what bar stools you want to compliment your new design.
There is also an importance in making sure that the area you choose has a sufficient electricity supply. You won’t want to spoil the overall impact by having to run extension leads across the room, because this will cheapen everything and cause your bar to look makeshift.
Finally, it is important to choose the right bar stools. You will be relying on the bar stools to punctuate the bar as a whole and really give it the final finishing touch. It makes sense to have stools that go with the overall design of the bar. If you’ve chosen certain colours and materials then it pays to keep everything matching.
Of course, there are people who like to go for something quirky, and maybe even get four, five or six completely separate bar stools that are white, black, brown blue, purple, pink and orange, which kind of creates its own unique hodgepodge impact that, if pulled off, can look a lot better than it sounds. The final look of your bar is entirely down to you – your imagine and the various bits of your personality that you put into its design.
